  • Global Issues and Challenges in Health Care and Business Management

In the age of globalisation, the dynamically aligning societies across the economic and political boundaries are shaping the degree and direction of growth of Health Care Industry at the global level. Globalisation is an economic and political phenomenon profoundly affecting the choices and the consequences of choices of the most locally determined hospitals and investors. Business has been playing a significant role in spawning the globalisation initiative to every part of the globe. In this backdrop, the Centre for Hospital Administration headed by Prof. K S Thakur, one of the pioneers in Management Education in Madhya Pradesh, organised a two-day National Seminar on February 27–28, 2013, on 'Global Issues and Challenges in Health and Business Management'. It was an endeavour to provide a much-needed platform to the stakeholders for meaningful deliberations and resolutions. The present book is the edited version of research papers submitted and presented in the seminar. The aim of this book is to bring together some important facts and ideas about management systems in the Health Care Industry and Business. It is intended to provide an overview towards the strategic commands, which can be implemented by the Indian business houses mainly providing health services to compete with the multinationals in the wake of liberalisation of the economy, as it is not easy to give a balanced and objective account of our knowledge of management in the recent times to Health Care. This edited book must be helpful in the development of genuine research studies in the Health Care and Business Management. It would also be useful and meaningful to students, researchers, faculty members, management experts, consultants, planners, government functionaries and management activists. Learn More
