Dr. K.L. Chadha (Padma Shri Awardee) is currently President of the Horticultural Society of India and also Adjunct Professor (Hort.) at IARI. He received M.Sc. (Hort.) degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh and Ph.D. from IARI, New Delhi. He had served in various capacities at IARI, New Delhi, PAU, Ludhiana and Central Mango Research Station, Lucknow. He was the Director, IIHR, Bengaluru, Horticulture Commissioner and Executive Director, National Horticulture Board, Govt. of India; DDG (Hort.), ICAR and ICAR-National Professor (Hort.) at IARI. Dr. S.K. Singh is presently the Head, Division of Fruits and Horticultural Technology, IARI, New Delhi. He received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Horticulture from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and joined Agricultural Research Service in 1994. He is involved in teaching and improvement of mango & grape. He has developed three extra-early grape varieties and production technology of mango and grape. Dr. Singh is working on biotechnological application and marker-assisted breeding in fruit crops. Dr. Pritam Kalia is the former Head, Division of Vegetable Science at IARI, New Delhi. He has significantly contributed in the field of vegetable breeding and developed 28 varieties/ hybrids of different vegetable crops. He pioneered popularizing exotic vegetable crops broccoli and leek by developing indigenous varieties for diversification and nutrition. Dr. W.S. Dhillon is presently the Assistant Director General (Hort-I) at Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. He did M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He has developed 10 varieties of fruit crops; 1 rootstock; and 35 technologies on propagation, production, protection and post-harvest management. He also served as Director, Punjab Horticultural Post-harvest Technology Centre (PHPTC), Ludhiana. Dr. T.K. Behera is presently Professor of Vegetable Science at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He received M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. in Horticulture from OUAT, Bhubaneshwar and IARI, New Delhi. He has significantly contributed in the field of vegetable breeding and developed 14 varieties/hybrids of cucurbitaceous vegetable crops. He introgressed gy-1 (gynoecious habit) gene into commercial varieties of bitter gourd and first time developed bitter gourd variety for cultivation under protected structures. Dr. Jai Prakash is presently the Senior Scientist at the Division of Fruits and Horticultural Technology, IARI, New Delhi. He received M.Sc. (Hort.) from CSAUA&T, Kanpur and Ph.D. degree in Horticulture from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and joined Agricultural Research Service of ICAR in 2003. He is serving ICAR for the last 14 years and is involved in research & teaching and has developed improved papaya and pineapple varieties.
